Happy AND Sad...

Happy - was able to plan some great meals & get through a huge shop
Sad - scraped my car all down the left side of D's car in my rush to get Bonnie to piano lessons (didn't look carefully...obviously)
Happy - got a lovely note from the parent of a school student
Sad - have to write reports
Happy - went to Pilates today
Sad - Specialist phoned & told me I have some health/blood issues that need to be sorted out
Happy - it's FRIDAY
Sad - there's more to do this weekend than hours in the weekend...

Instead of being at work...

I am at home with a sick daughter running a fever.
This is something I didn't go through in my past teaching experience! Being a mother AND a music teacher is hard. I just had to email in some lesson plans. It would be so much easier if I could just be there in person to teach the children...it's so much harder to try & write out all those ideas for someone who may or may not have musical abilities? Anyway, my throat has started feeling itchy too. The boys have had it, perhaps Bon is right & "it's the girls turn now"??

D just heard this morning that a teacher at an Anglican school has A.L.L. Another person is about to start their journey of horror with Leukaemia...I remember those dreadful early days. I remember the huge amount of support that flowed our way, especially in those early days when everyone is tripping over themselves to try to be of help. I found this picture this morning & it made me smile...I really do believe that prayer makes a difference to our situations, in all situations. In our case there was no instantaneous healing - which is what some people of course expect from prayer (which I still believe happens) - but there were so many little positive helpful blessings along the way for us...& I don't mean that in a corny unrealistic kind of way. Prayer changes the pray-er too. Even in a physical way, scientists have noticed that people who meditate & pray have less stressed cells in their body. It's a reality!

So much to pray for today:
* Eric catching the bus home ALL BY HIMSELF for the first time
* staff that are unwell at school post-surgery
* my classes without me, that they won't be feral for the casual teacher
* D who went to work after not much sleep & is Acting Principal
* Nan & Pops' Anniversary

I like the thought that God is big enough to oversee the whole world yet interested in the small details of our lives too...

I'm off to cut up oranges, fluff pillows, pour drinks, read books & give cuddles inside the house of "unwellness"

Girls & Boys

Heard a great talk today up at church by an early childhood nurse about the differences between girls & boys...

How blessed I am to have Miss B & Master E!!! She's right - they are VERY different (as all children are of course) & how delightful that they are so different. Going to do some more reading on this AND finish cleaning up the house so we can enjoy Friday night fun.

Going to listen to TGIF on 702 on the radio...

It's Friday! Hooray...

Looking forward to lots of cuddles, a yummy easy dinner & a Friday night family DVD...& hopefully a sleep in tomorrow...

...life doesn't get much better?

LOVE FRIDAYS!

This snap is about 5 months old - think Christmas - but I love having a good snuggle up on a Friday afternoon. School's over for the week, Princess Bon finished all the NAPLAN tests, Eric's had most of the week of with a bad cold (he sounds like he's been smoking a pack a day), D is on his way home from a conference in the Hunter Valley & the TV is on, it's cold so some lovely snuggles & book reading is in store. Tea is in the slow cooker.
The computer is working.
Hooray for Friday.
Hello weekend...here's to enjoying you!!!

Mothers Day :-)

What a lovely day...bacon & eggs, flowers at church, fresh coffee, some time with my family, a BBQ lunch & lots of cute handmade cards & of course my favourite Lindt chocolate...mmmm...
Bon went to visit sick mums' at Sutherland Hospital with her Sunday School class & hand out flowers & cards. So sweet...
The boys had some "secret mens business" at the shops & now Mum has a great new iron!!! (My other one was pathetic - $10 at Coles & it swung between scalding & burning to luke warm!)  The new one is AWESOME...

Happy 10th Birthday Dear Ones...

Can't believe you both would be turning TEN!
What precious little ones you were...
I am so sad as I remember you this weekend. I'm so sad that you never got to be a living part of our family. I'm so sad for all the memories we didn't get to make together. I'm so sad that my body wasn't a safe place for you to grow bigger. I'm so sorry that I didn't get to spend more time with you both.

Remembering you tomorrow on your birthday & on Sunday - Mothers' Day. A bittersweet day when your children aren't in your arms like they should be...

~Max & Lucy~
Remembering you forever...
I love you both.

Happy Happy

Dad is home. Lovely happy weekend...

Tomorrow is church - hooray. I'm leading prayers which is always so exciting. We're meeting people who serve others around the world & thinking about how we can make a different further than our own little suburb - which is a great thing to think about...then we're having a BBQ, meeting a new friend, gardening, taking up trousers for a little boy who wears a new winter uniform Monday.

Now, if I can just stop getting people to leave porn messages on my comments page, I'll be really happy. (Not you Melanie!)
