STUPID MOUSE TRAP...

Well, I used peanut butter & when Bonnie went into the laundry to check this morning there was a poor little mouse blinking at us. I think I bought the most pathetic cheap traps in the world...the mouse looked pretty uninjured...so Bon & I had to walk down the street & let the mouse out right away from our house. It hobbled away blinking its little eyes at us...we are pathetic I know...we can't even kill a mouse here...

This week...

What a week. Glad tomorrow is Friday. It's been a bit crazy...

I havebeen in for an interview at Bon's school seeking work as a casual. Terrified, excited & hopeful about returning to the work force after a 9 year break!

I am STILL doing battle with the mouse. We are not peanut butter eaters here - but in desperation this afternoon I bought some (thanks for all the tips) & am hoping to hear the SNAP of the trap tonight? It's continued to manage to eat around the food in the trap without setting them off...little bugger!

I skipped through the Oscars this morning. (Crashed on the lounge & full of the flu with a nose like a tap!) Call me sentimental, but I always love the bit when they remember & honour those actors & directors etc who have died since the last year. I feel sad that all that talent has gone now...yet HUNDRED of talented people die every day, talented in ways that people will never know about...

Another one of our Quest friends has died this week...how I hate reading that yet another friend has lost their battle with cancer. Lizzie was such an encouragement to everyone...such courage to fight, & what a fight it's been for her!! When the end comes it always seems way too fast for me. I knew she was fighting, then all of a sudden she's gone...this fallen, broken world just sucks sometimes. There is such wonder here, yet such horror.

It is heartbreaking...& so I leave this link here... (It's the Julie London version - pictured.)

I'll be seeing you...

A new Blog?

My husband has been reading up on all things computer - for work - & quickly put together Stonestreet World. Go for a quick peek here & see my son dancing on his first day of Prep & some pics of Miss Bon. I'm keeping my Blog here I think...but it's cute to see what D is coming up with.

On a more frustrating note, I am doing battle with a mouse in my house. It must be mighty mouse because it's managing to eat the food in the traps without being snapped up...AHHHHHH!!!!!!!! I mean, I'm all for being humane but this little creature is driving me insane...tips anyone??

Still reeling after last nights dance elimination on SYTYCD...sigh.

Off for a job interview tomorrow - lets hope I can get there this time...

The Creativity of Children & a special birthday

I just went to Karin's site & read her Stories post...oh my goodness, children as just so incredibly amazing...did you know that poo talks??  And so I had to include a picture of "The Man of Poo"

Well, I didn't really have to...but it's kinda funny. (Perhaps I had to much caffine tonight??) We're back from a lovely meal at a local Italian place to celebrate D's 40th - tomorrow I'm sending him out with some friends to a local cafe! A celebration for blokes. I know he'll have a great time...here's to another 40 healthy wonderful years...

Thinking about life & being alive...

All this death in Victoria has made me think about how grateful I am to have D still here...
I'm going to colour my hair in the Leukaemia Foundation fundraiser...

Eric's 1st Day at Prep...

Eric: "Mum, do you HAVE to walk in with me?"

Me: "Er, yes, I need to sign the book!"

Eric: "Oh...all right then. I guess you can come in."

Hurumph!!!

So much for the tearful leg cling. Mr Independent is such a big boy now...

Facts I learn about Eric when I'm not with him #104
- he loves to dance & is very free & uninhibited when moving!
(His teachers didn't seem surprised because both his parents have been music teachers...however I found this very interesting. I think it's more the fact he's ALL BOY & needs to burn off energy during the day...LOL!)

What am I doing?

I'm starting to fill out the paperwork so I can enter the wonderful world of teaching & education again after an 8 year break...although this paper forest seems to be more determined to keep people away from doing casual rather than encouraging people to return to the work force...I guess they need to be extra extra sure I am actually who I say I am & not some total nut job...hmmm...

I'mm exhausted. D & Bon are at school & this morning I fell into a sound sleep while Eric watched Teletubbies...I am exhausted. Must have needed that? At least I have finished the 7 Harry Potter books so I don't have to try to read read read before school goes back...yet I always feel a little unhappy after finishing a book. It's sort of sad...now I'll get back to the Narnia series? Can't seem to get my energy back after that little health issue...

I guess I'll have to venture back to the gym at some stage?

That goes for work too...
